A word that isn’t used a lot among people who create content on LinkedIn is workflow.

When scrolling on our feeds, we see a variety of well-written LinkedIn posts. Interestingly, we don’t think much about the creation process that exists behind them. ⚙️

And that’s for very good reason.

The creation process, or workflow, looks vastly different for every person who creates on LinkedIn. 👥

Between idea and post, everyone has a range of steps in their workflow that enables them to eventually experience growth and create impact.

Let’s dive into what a workflow consists of, and why it’s crucial to have one in place to drive your LinkedIn content strategy.

Why Is Having A Workflow A Must?

Without order, there’s chaos.

Can you imagine have a goal of posting 3x per week on LinkedIn, but not having a set routine that allows you to do the work required to achieve that?

Over time, it would look like this:

• You’d be inconsistent in creating

• You’d be constantly stressed about writing posts

• You wouldn’t achieve your desired results

• You’d fail by your own metrics

And eventually:

👉 You’d give up

The only way to achieve results on LinkedIn is to have consistency and constant improvement. And the only way to have the both of these is by having a workflow that streamlines your LinkedIn content strategy.

So…What’s A Workflow?

Simply put, a workflow is an organized creation routine you put together to produce LinkedIn posts.

In a bit more detail, having a workflow:

• Positions you to have as much output as you can

• Allows you to leverage your creative preferences

• Gives you the ability to rely on a system built for you

And here sits the central point about workflows for LinkedIn content creation: this looks different for every creator.

In other words, different creators have:

🕑 Different times when they work best

👩‍💼 Different workweek structures

💭 Different methods for coming up with ideas

✍️ Different writing processes

🛠️ Different tools they use

🧠 Different types of brainstorm sessions

And different everything else.

That’s why each creator has a different workflow to support their LinkedIn content strategy, and you should too.

What Should Your Workflow Have?

You can think of your workflow as a set of habits you have that ensures you produce. In order to put one together, or improve your current workflow, you need to get to know yourself.

Meet you 🤝

• Do you work best in the morning, or at night?

• Do you come up with the most ideas by researching or brainstorming?

Let’s take it up a notch.

Do you prefer to:

• Come up with an idea, and write the post for it in one session?

• Or to have one session only for coming up with ideas, and another session for converting those ideas into posts?

Yes, this goes even deeper:

• Do you have a place where you keep all your LinkedIn post ideas?

• Or are they everywhere? (Your notes app, Google docs, 7 Notion pages, and a list on your fridge?)

• How about a place where you have all your unfinished posts? (Yes, we know about those too.)

If we take all this and sum it up, it goes like this:

Do you have an organized way to work, in an organized place?

• Specific times for sessions

• Specific types of sessions

• Specific places to have sessions

This is so important, you might as well call it your LinkedIn growth strategy.

If you have a doable routine that you stick to, you’ll never be short on content and you will be consistent with your LinkedIn content creation.

Quick Recap

Writing LinkedIn posts can be a very time-consuming task when left unorganized and up to chance - and at best, it’s unsustainable. 🍀

The most important part of a LinkedIn content strategy is the piece that keeps you consistent, creative, and producing.

Your LinkedIn content creation workflow is more than your best friend - it’s your superpower.

Happy creating.
